Isaac Corzo
Corzo is a minister of the Gospel (as a Worship Pastor), husband, new father, musician (pianist, singer, composer/arranger, percussionist), educator, and a student of theology. Isaac was born in 1987 in Miami, Florida to Cuban parents. He has been studying music since the age of six, taking his first piano lessons from his mother. He holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music Theory, and a Master’s of Music in Orchestral Conducting from Florida International University. Isaac has cultivated his musical talent and style throughout the years under the mentorship of many great professors, including: Polish conductor Grzegorz Nowak of Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London; Dr. Orlando Garcia (composition); Dr. Joel Galand (music theory); Dr. David Dolata (music history, chamber and early music); Dr. Nancy Luzko (piano); Dr. José López (piano); Camila Szklarska (piano); Dr. John Augenblick (choir); Dr. Kathryn Longo (choir), Dr. Clair T. McElfresh (choir), Mr. Flavio Carrillo (choir), and many other admired professors and teachers.
Throughout his musical career, Isaac has engaged in various opportunities that have shaped him into the well-rounded musician he is. He enjoys producing music, conducting, composing and arranging, song-writing, singing, playing piano, and even jamming on the drum set when he gets the chance. Isaac has also directed the praise and worship times at churches alongside his wife Mariana for more than 7 years. He currently serves as Worship Pastor at Gateway Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. When not engaged in music, Isaac enjoys studying and reading about a wide variety of subjects, including theology, apologetics, philosophy, psychology, history, economics, etc., which prepares him to run his online teaching ministry, www.truthinformed.com.
Mariana Corzo
If I could summarize who I am in a few , simple words it would be wife, mother, musician, performer, educator, dedicated and perseverant. To me, music is life and there is nothing I enjoy more than to share it with others. Performing with my violin at various events gives me just that opportunity, and for that I am very thankful. Creating the perfect atmosphere for your event through music that will dazzle and entertain your guests, is my priority. I would love to meet you in person, but in the meantime, here is a little bit about my life..
I was born in Havana, Cuba in 1992. I started studying the violin at the age of eight, and piano at the age of nine (with the help of mymother, who is a pianist and pedagogue), at the Alejandro García Caturla Music Conservatory. In 2007, along with my family, emigrated to the United States and continued to pursue music at the Miami Conservatory of Music in Coconut Grove. Now, I hold a Bachelor’s in Violin Performance and Music Education, and a Master’s in Music Education from Florida International University. I was musically influenced by great professors at F.I.U., including: Dr. Cathy Benedict (music education); Dr. Jamey Kelly (music education); Dr. Joel Galand (music theory); Dr. David Dolata (music history, chamber and early music ensemble); Dr. John Augenblick (choir), among many other greatly admired professors and teachers.
Throughout my undergraduate and graduate musical career, I extensively studied under the tutelage of her cherished professor and violinist Marcia Littley, who studied with Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School in Manhattan, New York. In 2015, I was awarded First Place in F.I.U.’s annual Concerto Competition and, accompanied by the university’s orchestra, played Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major, under the direction of world-renowned Chilean conductor Maximiano Valdés—you can catch a glimpse of that performance on my website: www.stringsconnect.com. I also won the Graduate Research Award at Florida International University in 2016. Today, I serve my community as a music educator and run my own music studio “PraisetheWay”. I consider myself to be both precise and versatile; talented and dedicated—a well-rounded musician and violinist who easily captivates her audience.
